Snapchat and Amazon will work together to offer image based shopping

With its amazing filters and other effects, Snapchat is a famous messaging app that is most commonly used for exchanging pictures. Now, it's getting into online shopping.
Snapchat and Amazon announced a partnership Monday that will allow users to point their phones at products, using the Snapchat app, and be redirected to an Amazon link for the same or a similar product

Users can use Snapchat’s camera to scan a physical object or barcode, which brings up a card showing that item and similar ones along with their title, price, thumbnail image, average review score, and Prime availability. Snapchat determines if you’re scanning a song, QR Snapcode or object, and then Amazon’s machine vision tech recognizes logos, artwork, package covers or other unique identifying marks to find the product. Initially, it will roll out this feature for some small portion of users in America and once it will be successful then they will expand it.

It is said that after this partnership Snapchat will enter into social shopping domain and will compete with Instagram and Pinterest that have dominated the social shopping space.
